Arfie recently wrapped up his grassroots campaign to help raise money for The Humane Society's Rural Area Veterinary Services (RAVS) Program. In a check-giving ceremony conducted on November 16th at the Humane Society's Sacramento regional office in California, InfoSpace and Dogpile.com, on behalf of Arfie presented a check for $25,000 to representatives from RAVS and the Humane Society to help pets in need.

Together, Arfie and over 22,000 dogs and owners signed a petition urging millionaire pooch Trouble Helmsley to join Dogpile's fundraising efforts by matching the $25,000 donation. Unfortunately, Trouble declined to join the effort, but Arfie is excited to throw a bone to less fortunate animals.

Arfie's owner, Dogpile.com gave the donation to RAVS director Dr. Eric Davis to support the program's primary activities, which include providing care for disadvantaged pets, training veterinarians and veterinary technicians, and in-turn inspiring their participation in animal protection efforts. Now pooches from California to Virginia and North Dakota to Texas have a chance to lead a better life.
